Dr. Shilling has been in the practice since 1984 resulting to almost four decades of unparalleled experience and expertise in the field and she is also renowned in the industry both in and outside of Nebraska. She is a Board Certified Psychiatrist and has established herself both in scholastic research as well as in the practice. During her pre-med years in college Dr. Shilling received scholastic awards for a 4.0 average. In medical school she received honor grades in her research seminar and several classes.
Dr. Shilling has sat on several Board of Directors and Executive Committees nationally and in the community. She has been a community volunteer all of her life. She has reaceived a National Community Service award for her endeavors from the American Medical Women’s Association. She is a past Regional Governor over eight states with the American Medical Women’s Association. She is president of the Board of Directors of a Non-Profit organization. She is past president of the Central Neuropsychiatric Society. She has received the Arthritis Foundation’s Distinguished Public Service Award and Recognition Award. She is a recipient of the Paxton Manor Recognition Award, the Opera Omaha Recognition Award and the AMWA Outstanding Physician Award.
Dr. Shilling has Co-Chaired a Scientific Paper Session for the American Psychiatric Association on “ Psychiatric Aspects of Medical Illness”.
She has been a Scientific Paper Evaluator for the APA on Depression and Psychoneuro-Endocrinology.
She has been a Utilization or Quality Assurance Reviewer at several area hospitals.
Dr. Shilling has chaired the Ethics Committee for the American Medical Women’s Association. She has been a National Delegate to this organization for many years. She has also been a Medical Student and Resident Mentor. She has chaired local, state and regional conventions for this organization. She is a charter member of its Foundation.
Dr. Shilling has been a book reviewer for a medical journal for four years. She has written articles for several local newspapers and has been the featured medical expert at the news anchor desk or in TV interviews for many local TV stations.
Dr. Shilling has been asked to speak before a congressional committee in Washington D. C. on health concerns for patients. She has been the featured speaker at numerous organizations in the Omaha area and for national organizations.

She has been on the American Biographical Institute Research Board of Advisors. Dr. Shilling has done research seminars on and been involved in research on the inception of Biofeedback and the usage of and FDA approval of Depakote for psychiatric conditions. Dr. Shilling has published Medical Journal articles on “Usage of Psychiatric Services in Midwestern Cities” and “Prescribing Principles of Psychotropic Medications”.
Dr. Shilling has been in practice since 1984. She is a native Nebraskan and all her training has been in Nebraska.
A psychiatrist goes to medical school for four years then takes another four-year Residency just in Psychiatry. After the Residency it is a two-year process to become board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Shilling is Board Certified.
Dr. Shilling sees all ages and psychiatric conditions. She also sees families in family therapy and does marriage counseling.

Dr. Shilling is affordable, confidential and flexible. She will fill out a Good Faith Estimate predicting the costs of self-pay patients. She is always available to answer any billing or insurance questions.
Dr. Shilling can do the therapy, as well as any medication management you may need, at the same visit, so you will not need to get an additional therapist. If you already are working with a therapist, she can just do the medication management. Dr. Shilling has published a medical journal article on "Prescribing Principles of Psychotropic Medications".
Patients who do not need medication just do therapy.
